GNV Queer Anarchists

a group of queer comrades committed to love, education, & liberation in Gainesville, FL

About Us

Anarchism calls for the abolition of any and all coercive power hierarchies, which includes the gender binary and heterosexism. It is less about our political affiliations and more so about our shared values of anti-capitalism, liberation, radical healing, mutual aid, abolition, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and queer love.We identify queerness as both a political and social identity, one that aims to subvert and reject heteronormativity and assimilation. Our queer liberation movement requires us to return to our anti-racist, anti-capitalist roots that Black and brown trans women embodied. This land was stolen from Indigenous people and white colonial settlers built a system of exploitation through violence, religious propaganda, manipulation, murder, and capitalism. These values are woven into our society, and we must actively continue to unlearn and challenge ourselves and others.Alexander Berkman:
“It is not bombs, disorder, or chaos.
It is not robbery and murder.
It is not a war of each against all.
It is not a return to barbarism or to the wild state of man.
Anarchism is the very opposite of all that.
Anarchism means that you should be free; that no one should enslave you, boss you, rob you, or impose on you.”

Fight Toxic Prisons

The Campaign to Fight Toxic Prisons (FTP) mission is to conduct grassroots organizing, advocacy, and direct action at the intersection of incarceration, health, and ecology. We aim to directly challenge the prison system, which is putting prisoners at risk of dangerous environmental conditions, as well as impacting surrounding communities and ecosystems by their construction and operation.

FL Prisoner solidarity

Florida Prisoner Solidarity (FPS) is a carceral abolitionist collective with membership expanding across the state, both inside and outside prisons. Their efforts are focused around the needs of all incarcerated individuals, their care networks, and the people in community with them.
Their work centers the voices of those most directly impacted, while emphasizing that incarceration is a direct result of white supremacy and empire.
